Explosion at Montana truck repair center leaves one dead, one injured

A deadly explosion occurred at a truck repair center in Butte, Montana, on Monday afternoon.

The explosion occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on March 15 at Silver Bow Truck & Auto Center in Butte.

Two men were working on an oil storage tank inside of a metal building at the business when the explosion occurred.

One man died at the scene. The other was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Multiple agencies responded to the explosion, including A1 Ambulance, the Butte-Silver Bow Coroner’s Office, and the Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department.

The business Biggers Transport operates at the same location. The company specializes in hazmat transport.

The incident remains under investigation.
