Family says missing retired OTR driver with cancer may be at truck stop

Published:

A Georgia family is asking for help in locating a former truck driver who went missing while suffering from cancer.

Family members say that retired trucker Rory Harris, 61, was last seen leaving his home on Jackson Lake Road in Henry County, east of McDonough, Georgia, on foot around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 13.

Harris is suffering from liver cancer and family members say that he is physically frail and disoriented. He reportedly left home without his medication.

Because of Harris’s background in trucking, family members think that he may have made his way to a truck stop on I-75 in Henry County, Georgia, to try to get a ride from a truck driver, according to local outlet 11Alive.

Family members also speculate that Harris may be trying to make his way to Florida, where he grew up and lived for many years.

Harris is described as a white male who is 6’0″, 195 pounds, with blue eyes and grey hair.

Anyone who has information on Harris is asked to call Henry County Police Detective J. Love at 770-288-8370 or Henry County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 770-957-9121.
