FIRE DEPT: “Thankfully everyone is OK” following big rig rollover

Published:

No injuries were reported following a wreck that left a flatbed semi truck almost entirely upside down.

The accident happened on Wednesday, January 6th near Scott City, Missouri.

According to the Southeast Missourian, the semi truck was making a right turn from Nash Road onto Interstate 55 when he apparently overcorrected, causing the rig to roll and dislodging its load of what appear to be large stone or metal objects.

The truck driver was not injured in the incident.

“Thankfully, everyone is OK,” said Scott City Fire Department Capt. Kevin Drury, who responded to the incident.

“No injuries, no hazmat concerns.”

The accident forced the closure of the northbound entrance ramp to I-55 for approximately one hour but has since been cleared.
