A truck driver was trapped inside his wrecked rig for two hours after a single truck wreck in Washington on Monday.
The accident happened on May 10th near Pasco, Washington at around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 17 and Road 170.
According to The Tri-City Herald, police say the trucker was hauling double trailers filled with cow feed when it experienced a mechanical failure, overturned, and landed upside down. The impact destroyed the cab of the truck and trapped the driver inside.
Firefighters worked for two hours to cut through the twisted metal and pull the driver from the wreckage.
The truck driver’s health condition is not known, but he was flown to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland following the extrication.
The driver’s identity has not been released and the exact cause of the wreck is still not known.
