Georgia police say trucker was charged for pushing car into intersection in incident caught on camera

Police say that a truck driver was charged following an intersection crash caught on traffic cameras.

Police were called on Tuesday morning in Duluth, Georgia, by a motorist who said he was hit after sitting at a light at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road.

The car driver told police that when the light turned green, a truck behind him pushed his car forwarding the intersection and into another car.

Both car drivers told police that the truck driver made a U-turn and left the scene, WSB-TV reports.

A witness came forward and told police the he had followed the truck to a restaurant and spoken with truck driver Henry Cain about the crash. Cain told the witness that he was unaware that he’d caused a crash.

Police saw damage to Cain’s truck consistent with the motorist’s story.

Cain was placed under arrest and charged with hit-and-run, reckless driving, and following too closely.
