This new video gives viewers an up-close-and-personal look at the game-changing digital dashboard in the new Freightliner Cascadia.

Illinois-based carrier GP Transco recently enhanced their fleet by adding 130 Freightliner Cascadias with all-digital cockpits — and they were kind enough to let the folks at Smart-Trucking borrow one for an afternoon to give it a closer look.

In the video, Smart-Trucking host Dave takes viewers on a walkaround of the aerodynamic features of the new model Cascadia before checking out the interior and diving into the truck’s state-of-the-art digital dashboard.

Two touch screens give drivers real-time information on coolant temperature, engine oil, engine oil pressure, turbo boost, soot level, rear axle oil temperature, front axle oil temperature, suspension, and air pressure. In the video, Dave demonstrates how easy it is to toggle between screens to view each digital gauge.

One of the most groundbreaking features on new Cascadias will allow drivers to use either the Apple CarPlay or the Android Auto app to seamlessly integrate their trucks with their smartphones to help them stay focused and connected on the road.

“That’s pretty easy to navigate,” Dave remarked. “I was worried it would be distracting while you were trying to drive and look at your gauges, but it’s not at all. It’s not at all; it’s a very nice clear presence.”

More than half of all new drivers at GP Transco will be driving one of the 2022 Freightliner Cascadias featured in the video above. The company says that the rest of their fleet is completely comprised of newer model trucks, with no truck older than three years.

GP Transco’s commitment to providing drivers with the most up-to-date equipment is just one way that they show respect and support for their most valuable assets — their drivers. They’ve been recognized as “The Best Trucking Company To Work For in 2021” for their industry-leading driver pay, family-like atmosphere, and commitment to adopting technology that makes drivers safer and more efficient.

The company was also recognized with the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Company Award, which recognizes privately-held U.S. companies that have experienced rapid growth.

GP Transco was founded more than 15 years ago and has steadily grown to employ nearly 450 drivers. To learn how you can kickstart your career with one of the most forward-thinking companies in the trucking industry, please click here.

And be sure to stay tuned – Smart-Trucking will be releasing a follow-up video where Dave actually drives the 2022 Cascadia and gives viewers his impressions about the ride quality.
