A Nebraska-based trucking company has been quietly carving out a reputation for being one of the best fleets in the nation to drive for — and they’ve recently upped CPM pay as a way to say thanks to their professional driving team.

Grand Island Express recently announced a major driver pay increase of $0.08 CPM, which boosted driver pay ranges to $0.53 CPM to $0.64 CPM. The pay increase is intended to show the company’s gratitude for the hard work and skill of their driving team.

The company says that OTR drivers average between 2,700 and 3,200 miles and $1600 per week, taking home between $57,000 and $80,000 per year after the driver pay increase.

Competitive driver pay is a major reason that Grand Island Express has been recognized as one of the top career destinations for truck drivers for more than a decade straight.

Each year for the past 10 years, the company has made the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) “Top 20 Best Fleets to Drive for” in North America list. The list recognizes for-hire trucking companies for providing outstanding work environments for truck drivers and employees. The “Best Fleets” program looks at multiple factors like compensation packages, benefits, and career advancement opportunities when choosing which 20 fleets are the most truck driver-friendly.

The company has also been recognized by the independent website TruckDriversSalary.com as a top 10 company in the U.S. according to the site’s driver pay ranking. As of August 10, Grand Island Express sits at #6 on the top 10 list with annual pay listed at $83,000.

In addition to industry-leading pay, Grand Island Express also provides drivers with multiple benefits and driver perks, including:
