“Haul your blues away” with this new trucking-themed single

Simon Flory, a Fort Worth, Texas based singer-songwriter has released a new single about the human condition – and also semi trucks.

Flory’s “Peter Mack Built a Semi Truck” features trucking-themed lyrics, country music name-drops, and of course, laments over having ‘the blues,’ all centered on the idea that “it won’t take no semi truck to haul these blues away.”

“I wrote ‘Peter Mack Built A Semi Truck’ in the Chihuahuan Desert while watching the sunset over the Rio Grande and meditating on the expansiveness of the human spirit in the face of adversity-big outside forces (with the would-be border wall in my view as a reminder), coping with loss, seeking redemption in sobriety, and the internal struggles of depression and anxiety,” Flory said to Wide Open Country

“We’re all the loneliest people we know, and to say we got the blues these days is an understatement. My hope is that this song — and the ones standing next to you — help haul a little of yours away.”
