Here are seven of the scariest truck blowover videos we’ve ever seen

Published:

We thought we’d take a look back at a few of the most terrifying times that semi truck blowovers were caught on camera.

1. February 7, 2017, Elk Mountain, Wyoming. In this video, a Wyoming Highway Patrol officer’s vehicle is crushed when a gust of wind toppled a passing semi truck.

2. November 15, 2020, near Cheyenne, Wyoming. A motorist watches for a tense couple of minutes as a trucker in front of him battles the wind — and eventually loses that battle.

3. October 26, 2020, Southern California. This was one of nearly 30 trucks blown over in one day as Santa Ana winds reached speeds of nearly 100 m.p.h.

4. August 2020, Iowa 80 truck stop in Walcott, Iowa. Wind tosses a parked truck like a toy at the popular truck stop.

5. May 23, 2019, near Liberal, Kansas. Get a driver’s eye view of how terrifying it is to lose control of your truck in high wind.

6. March 13, 2019, Canyon, Texas. In the video, you can see that wind pushes the trailer to the right side of the roadway, eventually flipping the truck and leaving it lying on its side, completely blocking both lanes of the road.

7. March 16, 2018, near Dodge City, Kansas. A Kansas Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Inspector caught a serious blowover on dash cam.
