Interstate 77 northbound is closed in Charlotte, North Carolina this afternoon as crews work to clear a fatal semi wreck that killed one.
The accident happened just before noon on October 18th on northbound I-77 near Woodlawn Road.
According to 3 WBTV News, at least six vehicles were involved in the crash that resulted in a semi truck overturning. One person died at the scene and another was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The identities of the deceased and injured are not known.

I-77 north is completely shutdown at Woodlawn Road while I-77 south is down to one lane.
As of 12:32 CST there was no estimated time of reopening, but officials warn travelers to avoid the area if possible.
