Icy box truck sends chunk flying through car windshield

A motorist’s windshield was smashed by a chunk of ice knocked from a box trailer in Connecticut on Wednesday. 

The incident occurred on February 3rd at around 2 p.m. in Wolcott, Connecticut. 

According to Eyewitness News 3, a Honda Civic was heading northbound on Wolcott Road when a hunk of ice flew off of a southbound box truck, shattering the windshield. 

The truck continued driving, but police believe the truck driver was not aware of the incident. 

The motorist sustained multiple cuts on their face but is expected to recover. 

Walcott police are attempting to identify the truck driver, and are reminding people that failure to remove snow or ice from your vehicle can result in a violation with fines as much as $75.
