Illinois State Police are investigating the death of a man found inside a truck early Thursday morning.
The Sangamon County Coroner’s Office responded around 2 a.m. on Thursday to southbound I-55 near mile marker 105 for a semi truck that had gone off the interstate.
The man inside the truck was pronounced dead around 2:30 a.m, according to a news release from Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity pending notification of relatives.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
The cause of death is under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office and the Illinois State Police.
