On Friday, the Iowa State Patrol released new dash cam video from a harrowing winter weather pileup crash that occurred earlier this month.
The pileup happened on February 4 on eastbound I-80 near Newton, Iowa, as a blizzard moved through the state. Approximately 40 vehicles were involved in the pileup, many of them semi trucks.
One person was hospitalized following the pileup.
The new dash cam video shows an Iowa trooper’s cruiser being struck three times by other vehicles as the pileup developed.
