A man was arrested in Tennessee on Wednesday after terrorizing multiple people with a laser-pointer.
The incident happened on May 5th in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
According to ABC 7 News, a trucker was traveling along Interstate 40 when he noticed a laser being directed towards him. The trucker then contacted police, who began searching for the source of the laser. Officers were then contacted by air traffic control, who reported that a laser had also been directed at a plane with 136 passengers on board.
A witness later notified police that the laser was coming from a hotel room on Hershel Drive.
The man was located at a Quality Inn and taken into custody. Information surrounding the man’s identity, as well as the nature of the laser, has not been released.
Dispatchers were first notified by the tractor-trailer driver, who was on I-40, and shortly after the first call, local air traffic control notified dispatchers about the aircraft being targeted with the laser. Officers located a separate witness who pointed out the hotel room.
