Lumber spilled in load-shifting wreck

No one was hurt but a load of lumber in a wreck that partially shut down an on-ramp in North Carolina on Tuesday. 

The accident happened in New Hanover County at around 2:15 p.m. 

Reports show he driver was trying to merge onto Interstate 140 north at the on-ramp when the load shifted, causing the rig to overturn in the middle of the roadway. 

The driver told WECT News that he was on his way to 84 Lumber in Wrightsboro and was not “going fast.” 

It is not clear what citation, if any, were issued in the incident.
