Massive rolls of plastic crushed at least one car after a semi truck overturned in Pennsylvania on Tuesday night.
The accident happened on May 4th at around midnight on Interstate 83 in Cumberland County.
According to The Daily Voice, a tractor trailer hauling massive rolls of plastic overturned exits 41B to Lemoyne and 40B to New Cumberland. The force of the impact broke open the trailer and sent the rolls of plastic rolling down the roadway – one of them even smashed into an SUV, totaling the vehicle.
The wreck also ruptured at least one of the truck’s diesel tanks, but only minor injuries were sustained in the incident.
The mess shut down both sides of the highway for several hours, but has since been cleared.
“As a train was passing through town, a very loud noise was heard by the members,” said West Shore Bureau of Fire in a Facebook post.
“At first it was thought that the train derailed but when we got outside we realized that a tractor trailer had overturned on the ramp from 83 North to 581 West. Chief 13 immediately called the incident in and began checking for injuries.”
Tonight crews were getting ready to depart from station 1 after returning from a structure response in New Cumberland….
