A Maine Department of Transportation building was destroyed in a fire over the weekend.
The fire occurred on Sunday, January 3rd at around 3:25 a.m. in Fort Fairfield.
According to ABC 8 News, the fire collapsed the building and destroyed two trucks, a backhoe, and several other pieces of equipment stored inside of the building.
No one was inside the building at the time of the incident and no injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Maine DOT officials say the fire and the loss of those vehicles “should not have a significant impact on the level of service” the agency provides.
