Police in Troy, Michigan, released dash cam video of the moment that a fuel tanker truck crashed into a center median and exploded.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:15 on July 12 on northbound I-75 near the Big Beaver Road overpass in Troy, Michigan.
Police say that the tanker truck struck the median center wall and immediately caught fire.
The tanker truck driver, who has been identified as a 46 year old male from Saint Clair, Michigan, was able to get out of the cab and was later taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries reported, according to authorities.
Police say that the tanker driver was hauling 14,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel at the time of the traffic crash.
The Troy Police Department is seeking witnesses to the crash. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Traffic Safety Unit at 248-524-3477.
