Motorist okay after being pinned between big rig and barrier wall

Published:

A motorist suffered only minor injuries after being pinned sideways between a semi truck and a barrier wall.

The accident happened on Wednesday, October 6th at around 2:30 a.m. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

According to WGAL 8 News, the semi truck and car collided on Interstate 83, pinning the car sideways between the rig and the concrete wall, trapping the motorist inside.

Fire fighters attempted to extract the motorist, who was pinned from the waist down under the dash and steering wheel.

“Squad arrived to find a passenger vehicle on its side pinned between a tractor trailer and the Jersey barrier. The driver of the car was pinned from the waist down under the dash and steering wheel. To make it more interesting… the driver was mostly below the top of the barrier making access more difficult,” wrote Harrisburg Bureau of Fire in a Facebook post.

“After numerous attempts to use the hydraulic tools and not making alot of headway. A heavy wrecker was brought in and pulled the truck and car away 6″ as one. Giving enough room to free the driver.”

Miraculously, the motorist suffered only non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

No further information has been released.
