Mower’s drift onto roadway leads to double-semi crash

Published:

A wreck involving multiple semi trucks and a lawn tractor led to the partial closure of a roadway in Oklahoma early on Monday morning.

The accident happened early on June 26th in Mayes County, Oklahoma.

According to News 9, a man on a lawn tractor was mowing the grassy shoulders of the westbound Will Rogers Turnpike between the Claremore and Big Cabin Exits near mile marker 274 when it drifted onto the roadway.

As it drifted onto the highway, an oncoming semi truck clipped the mower, causing a second semi truck to crash into the back of the first.

The wreck initially forced the closure of both westbound lanes, but the inside lane has since been reopened.

The incident is still under investigation. It is not clear what injuries were sustained in the wreck.
