Multiple motorists cited for snapping photos of overturned rig

Multiple motorists were ticketed earlier this week after police witnessed them taking photos of an overturned rig while driving.

The incident happened in South Lake Tahoe, California at around 2:10 on July 12th.

According to South Tahoe Now News, the unnamed truck driver took a left turn too fast at the intersection of Mt. Rainer Road and North Upper Truckee Road, causing the rig to overturn.

Thankfully, the trucker was not hurt in the incident. It is not clear whether the trucker was issued a citation for the accident, but multiple passing motorists were cited after officers witnessed them filming the wreck while driving.

“Please do not drive distracted, especially near accident scenes,” CHP South Lake Tahoe said in a Facebook post. “Pay attention to emergency personnel so you do not create another traffic collision or injure someone else.”
