Multiple roads closed in Arizona for wildfires

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has closed several roads due to wildfires.

Over the weekend, two major wildfires erupted in Arizona — the Mescal Fire east of Phoenix, and the Telegraph Fire, which is burning near Top-of-the-World.

The fires have burned through tens of thousands of acres in just a couple of days and have triggered evacuation warnings.

Due to the two wildfires, ADOT has closed the following roadways:

  • US 60: Superior-Top-of-the-World
  • SR 77: Globe-Winkelman
  • SR 177: Superior-Winkelman.
  • SR 70: Closed to semis/commercial traffic from MP 272-302.

ADOT says that there is no estimated time for the roads to reopen.
