Officers investigating apparent failed attempt to burn down trucking business

Published:

Florida police are investigating an apparent attempt at burning down a trucking business early Friday morning.

The attempt appears to have occurred overnight, but police were not called to the Jacksonville, Florida trucking business until 8 a.m. on February 12th, when the trucking company owner arrived at work and discovered liquid and broken glass.

According to Action News Jax, someone threw “some sort of device” containing “volatile” chemicals at a trucking business at the 1900 block of Phoenix Avenue, likely with the intention of burning down the business. However, luckily for the trucking company, the device seems to have malfunctioned, and no fire was started.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the suspected arson attempt is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s office.
