One dead, one arrested after street race ends in collision with semi truck

One man is dead and another has been arrested after a street race ended in a crash with a turning semi truck near Houston on Wednesday. 

The incident happened on June 23rd in Harris County, Texas. 

According to KHOU 11 News, 20-year-old Oluwatise Gbadebo and his 20-year-old unnamed friend were racing their Mustang and Camaro along Clay Road near the Grand Parkway when an 18-wheeler turned in front of them into a gas station. 

The unnamed Camaro driver then collided with the semi truck, sending the car completely under the trailer and killing the motorist instantly. Gbadebo, the Mustang driver, was able to avoid the rig but went into oncoming traffic and struck a curb. He later returned to the scene of the crash, where he was arrested and charged in connection to the deadly incident. 

Officers say that the two men were going about 90 mph at the time of the crash and that there are no signs of driver impairment. 

No other injuries have been reported.
