One of America’s biggest trucking shows is officially cancelled for 2021

Published:

Event organizers have confirmed that the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) will not be taking place in 2021 due to lingering COVID-19 concerns.

On Tuesday, MATS organizers officially confirmed that the event will be pushed back from the tentatively scheduled date of September 16 — 18, 2021, to March 24 — 26, 2022.

The event is still expected to take place at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.

Organizers say that they are still excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of MATS next year: “Over the past year trucking professionals have made numerous sacrifices, and worked relentlessly to overcome unprecedented challenges to keep our country moving forward. We are humbled by your dedication and honored to be a part of such a hard-working industry. We look forward to seeing everyone at #MATS50 and celebrating our great industry together!”

The in-person 2021 Great American Trucking Show (GATS) was also canceled by event coordinators in October 2020. Some aspects of the event will still go on through a 2021 virtual GATS week. It will include four events that celebrate the industry: Small Fleet Champ Award, Partners in Business, Pride & Polish and Trucker Talent Search.
