Overturned truck sets little piggies free on interstate

It forced the shutdown of a ramp for around four hours.

A litter of young pigs was set loose on a Missouri Interstate on Sunday evening, forcing the closure of the roadway.

The accident happened on August 8th in St. Louis County on the ramp from Interstate 270 to Interstate 64.

According to FOX 2 News, the livestock trailer overturned on the ramp for “unknown reasons,” breaking open the trailer and setting the small pigs free. The pigs roamed along the roadway and through the median, forcing the closure of the ramp as first responders worked to corral the loose animals.

The highway was shut down for approximately four hours as crews worked to capture the pigs. It has since been reopened.
