Person on foot struck and killed by semi truck at Michigan Love’s truck stop

Police in Michigan have confirmed that a man was killed while walking in a truck stop parking lot on Thursday morning.

The fatal incident occurred at 6:17 a.m. at a Love’s Travel Stops located in Frenchtown Township, Michigan.

Police say that 64 year old Flint resident Glen Hazen Roth was walking in the rear parking lot when he was struck by a 2017 Freightliner operated by a driver from Ontario.

Roth was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says that alcohol and drugs are not thought to have been a factor in the fatal pedestrian strike.
