Police confirm two dead in head on crash involving livestock hauler

Louisiana State Police have confirmed two fatalities in a serious crash on I-10 on Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 8 a.m. on I-10 near the Duson exit at mile marker 92.

Local outlet KTDY reports that a westbound semi truck crossed into the median and into eastbound traffic, hitting a second semi with a livestock trailer head on.

Two people were killed in the crash and five others were reported injured.

Westbound I-10 is closed and miles-long traffic backups have been reported.

Traffic is being rerouted from LA 95 South to US 90.

This is a developing story.
