Police are asking any witnesses of a recent fatal crash for help in determining exactly what happened.
The fatal accident happened on Friday, March 26th at 10:38 a.m. in New Windsor, New York.
According to the North Orange Daily Voice, a 2019 Subaru was heading south on Temple Hill Road when it suddenly crossed the yellow line and collided head on with an oncoming semi truck hauling a tanker trailer.Â
The force of the impact killed the motorist, 58-year-old Robert Stack, and seriously damaged the cab of the truck, trapping 27-year-old trucker, Matthew Williams, inside of the rig.
Luckily, the fire department was able to extricate Williams from the rig without much delay and he was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The tanker trailer was not seriously damaged in the wreck and no fuel was spilled.
The trucker is expected to make a full recovery, but officers are still investigating the reason Stack crossed the yellow line.
