Police searching for culprit after yet another rental driver doesn’t get how tall their truck is

Published:

A rental box truck took down an adorable covered bridge in Vermont this week, and now police are looking for the culprit, reports the Caledonian Record.

In surveillance video captured of the incident, the truck inches towards the covered bridge in Lyndon, Vermont, but the driver suddenly decides to go for it, ripping multiple boards from the bridge as they go.

The box truck tears through the covered bridge and comes to a stop on the other side, where the driver gets out of the cab and walks around the bridge, giving it a once over before apparently deciding everything is fine and climbing back into the truck.

At least one other motorist was a witness to the incident, but instead of continuing on their way and braving the now damaged bridge, they just turn their car around and drive away, clearly not willing to deal with this inexperienced driver’s situation.

Anyone with information on the truck or driver is asked to contact the Lyndonville Police Department at 802-626-1271.
