Published:

A man was arrested over the weekend after stealing a semi truck and leading police on a pursuit that ended with the rig lodged in the side of a house.

The incident happened on June 19th near Chino, California.

According to Champion Newspaper, the semi truck was parked at a tire shop in Montclair when the suspect stole it. The owner of the rig saw what happened and called police as he tailed the stolen truck, which then led police on an extensive chase through Pomona.

During the chase, the thief ignored officer’s attempts to pull him over and eventually lost control, sped through an intersection, struck a utility pole, drove through a cinderblock wall, and crashed into a house. Luckily, no one was inside of the house at the time of the crash.

“Several homes in the area were left without power,” police said. “The house struck by the semi-truck sustained major structural damage and was being assessed by the Chino Valley Fire District.”

The semi-truck theft will be investigated by the Montclair Police Department. Anyone with information can call Montclair Police at (909) 448-3600.

The collisions are being investigated by the California Highway Patrol’s Rancho Cucamonga station. Their number is (909) 980-3994.
