Semi truck smashes into fireworks stand at Wisconsin truck stop

Police say that two people were hurt when a semi truck crashed into a fireworks stand in Oakdale, Wisconsin, on Tuesday.

The incident occurred 11 a.m. at a Love’s Travel Stop location in Monroe County.

Police say that 47 year old New Jersey-based truck driver Richard Isaboke is believed to have suffered from a medical emergency, causing his truck to veer off the roadway and collide with a fireworks stand near the truck stop.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the truck pushed the fireworks stand approximately 15 feet, and truck continued through the parking lot before exiting the roadway again and coming to rest on the south end of the property.

Police say that 77 year old Ettamae Henze was sitting in the fireworks stand at the time of the crash. She suffered a head injury and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Isaboke was also transported to the hospital for treatment.

Multiple agencies responded to the emergency, including the Monroe County 911 Communications Center, Wisconsin State Patrol, Tomah Ambulance, and the Oakdale Fire Department.
