Thief just helps himself to unlocked semi truck, drives it away from Farmer’s Market

A man has been arrested after helping himself to an unlocked semi truck at a Michigan Farmer’s Market last week.

The incident happened on August 11th in Oakland County, Michigan.

According to The Oakland Press, the vendor and truck owner says he had left the truck in the parking lot unlocked with the keys in it as he spoke to another vendor at the Farmer’s Market. During his conversation, he saw the truck being driven away without him and contacted police to report it stolen.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office then issued a “be on the lookout” alert before the rig was spotted on Walton Boulevard at Perry Street. Officers were able to pull the rig over and arrest the suspect without further incident.

The man was then interviewed and held at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of an arrest warrant.
