A driver hauling a small house had to abandon his load after becoming stuck on an Ohio highway earlier this week.
Police were called to the scene on Tuesday, March 2, at 2:09 p.m when a 72-year-old driver left a mobile home on the highway because the width of the house couldn’t squeeze through a construction zone.
The moving company reportedly did not adhere to the permit processing directions to not drive through the construction zone.
The driver left the oversized load in the construction zone on State Rt. 77 northbound near the Rt. 800 on-ramp.
The mobile home remained between the southbound and northbound lanes of the highway until highway department workers were able to tow the mobile home south to an exit on the morning of March 4.
The driver was cited for violating his permit and for being over the legal width, said the Canton police.
