Three rigs packed with migrants prove people are still “ignoring government calls to stay home,” authorities say

Published:

Authorities say immigrants are “ignoring government calls to stay home” after three semi trucks packed with migrants were discovered near the Mexico-Guatemala border.

According to Reuters, the trucks were discovered on Thursday, March 18th and yielded 329 Guatemalans and Hondurans, including 114 unaccompanied minors.

Once discovered, the migrants were all given food and water before being sent to shelters and administrative offices for processing.

Mexican authorities say these trucks were heading for the US, and serve as proof that the United State’s toughened approach to the US-Mexico border, as well as widespread messaging urging would-be migrants to stop risking the journey, has done little to stem the flow of people attempting to enter the US.
