Trailer torn to shreds in wreck that blocked Ben Franklin Bridge

Published:

Traffic is blocked on the Ben Franklin Bridge heading towards Philadelphia due to a seriously wrecked semi truck, officials say.

According to True Jersey News, the truck was hauling onions when it overturned in the westbound lanes of the bridge on Monday, March 8th, and scattered its load across the highway, just above the  Old City section of Philadelphia.

The driver had to be rescued from inside of the wrecked cab. His condition is not known.

Drivers are encouraged to use the Walt Whitman Bridge or Betsy Ross Bridge as alternate routes while crews work to clear the wreckage.
