Troopers find an unusual number of HOS violations during surprise blitz

Published:

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) recently conducted a surprise truck enforcement detail to enforce federal Hours of Service regulations — and allegedly discovered as many violations as the number of trucks inspected.

The HOS enforcement blitz took place on Tuesday evening in Troup County, Georgia.

During this detail, Officers performed inspections on CMV’s to see if drivers were obeying federal hours of service regulations. Officers performed 34 inspections, and discovered 34 HOS violations, and placed three drivers out of service. Great job Region 5!” Georgia DPS wrote in a social media post.

Several members of the trucking community took to social media to comment on the results of the HOS blitz.

Though multiple users asked for more information on the exact nature of the violations, the DPS did not provide any additional details.
