Truck driver perished in two truck crash on Mississippi interstate

Authorities have confirmed that a truck driver lost his life in a major collision on I-22 in Mississippi on Thursday.

The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on May 27 in Marshall County, Mississippi.

According to the Mississippi Department of Public safety, a preliminary investigation indicates that 61 year old Mississippi-based truck driver Leander Webb was eastbound on I-22 near the Red Banks exit when he was rear ended by a second semi truck driven by Tennessee-based truck driver Timothy Scott, 50.

Webb was fatally injured in the crash and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol
