Truck driver with suspended license faces charges for fatally striking man at loading dock

New Jersey authorities have charged a truck driver following a fatal accident at a business location on Tuesday.

New Jersey-based truck driver Kimberly Holmes, 39, has been charged with causing death or injury while driving with a suspended license, according to a news release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, police responded to a call about an unconscious male at a business located at 19A Cottage Lane in East Brunswick, New Jersey.

Officers arrived at the location and pronounced 43 year old New York resident Uttam Sharma dead at the scene.

Following an investigation into the incident, police were able to determine that Holmes struck Sharma as she was driving up to the loading dock.

Police also learned that Holmes was operating with a suspended license.
