Truck stop domestic dispute ends in gunshot to woman’s leg

A woman was shot during a domestic dispute at a Michigan truck stop early on Thursday morning. 

The incident happened at around 5 a.m. at the Flying J Travel Center at 21055 West Road in Woodhaven, Michigan on November 11th.

According to The News-Herald, Police received a call reporting a domestic dispute at the truck stop with screaming heard in the background, but lost contact with the caller. Police then headed to the scene while a dispatcher attempted to reconnect with the caller. 

When police arrived, they began searching for the individuals in question, but soon heard a gunshot which led them in the right direction. Officers then located a woman with a bullet wound to her leg and a man sitting inside the cab of a semi truck. 

Officers immediately took the man into custody and contacted paramedics, who promptly transported the wounded woman to a hospital with non life threatening injuries. 

The names of the individuals have not been released and charges have not yet been authorized.
