A truck driver was arrested recently after 132 undocumented imigrants were found inside his trailer and sleeper berth.

The incident happened at around 5:22 a.m. on August 14th in Laredo, Texas.

According to LMT Online News, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers ran the plates of a tractor trailer traveling along Highway 83 and discovered the plate belonged to a different vehicle. Troopers pulled the rig over and the driver, Darryl Lee Hulber II, grated permission for them to search the trailer. During the search, troopers found multiple people inside of the trailer and more inside of the sleeper berth.

A total of 132 undocumented people were found inside of the big rig. During his police interview “Hulber stated he was hired to drive a tractor-trailer from Laredo to San Antonio. Hulber stated he was to be paid $40,000 for the job once he arrived in San Antonio. Hulber stated he did not know there were people in the trailer, but due to the amount he was to be paid, he knew he was transporting something illegal,” according to the affidavit.

Hulber has since been arrested and charged with transport, attempt to transport and conspire to transport the migrants.
