Trucker arrested after stopping in peach orchard to pee

A truck driver was arrested after taking a bathroom break in a peach orchard in Georgia earlier this month.

The driver was arrested on July 8th in Monroe County, Georgia at an orchard along US 341 near Culloden, reports the Macon County Reporter.

According to The Telegraph, two locals contacted police to report that a tractor trailer was parked alongside the Dickey Farms orchard and they suspected the driver was “taking some of the peaches.” The two then took it upon themselves to block the truck in so that the driver could not flee the scene.  When police arrived, the 54-year-old trucker, Marc Allen Dingler, was leaning against his rig next to “a pile of peaches,” and explained to officers that he had “pulled over to pee and saw some peaches laying on the ground so he took them.”

The farmer and owner of the peaches estimated that the driver had taken 10 to 15 pounds of the fruit, and told police he wanted to press charges. Although he did later admit, almost understandingly, that “they were pretty peaches.”

Dingler was taken into custody and charged with theft-by-taking.
