Trucker calls police to report bodies in pond, turns out they’re just mannequins

Published:

A truck driver contacted police on Monday to report a gruesome sighting of a body floating in a roadside pond – luckily, the reality wasn’t so serious.

The unnamed truck driver contacted the California Highway Patrol in Stockton, California on February 15th, explaining that he believed he saw a body floating in a pond alongside Highway 99.

When police arrived, they discovered that the alleged body was a half-dressed mannequin wearing a jacket and no pants. Upon further investigation, officers discovered several more mannequin torsos and arms, along with at least three legs.

“We’re not sure where these mannequins came from or how they got in the water, but have no fear,” officers wrote in a Facebook post

Officers made sure to fully remove all mannequin parts to put all potential 911 callers at ease.

“Sometimes we see the worst scenarios in different situations, but this one we got a good laugh out of it and a good chuckle,” Officer Ruben Jones said to the Sacramento Bee.
