A truck driver is facing homicide charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on I-81 in West Virginia on Tuesday morning.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that 66 year old Georgia-based truck driver Harold Rue was charged with one count of murder.

The charge was issued in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred along northbound I-81 on Tuesday.

“The shooting is believed to have occurred after a road rage incident between Rue and another trucker. The shooting occurred at the 23 mile marker northbound after both truckers pull off onto the shoulder of the interstate. Rue fled the scene after shooting the other trucker and traveled northbound on Interstate 81,” the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.
