Trucker completely unscathed after near-miss incident with load of steel beams

Published:

A truck driver walked away from a serious crash completely unharmed in Washington on Wednesday evening.

The near-miss incident happened on October 20th in Kennewick.

Washing State Patrol troopers were called to the scene of a semi truck collision at State Road 395 and Yelm Street and were relieved to find the driver not only alive, but doing well.

Trooper Chris Thorson says that the unnamed truck driver stopped abruptly, causing the steel beams he was hauling to lurch forward and pierce the cab of the truck. The beams only narrowly missed the headrest of the driver’s seat, leaving the trucker miraculously unscathed.

Although the reason for the trucker’s abrupt stop was not made clear, it should be noted that, according to YakTri News, the intersection of S.R. 39 and Yelm St is generally one of the most congested stretches of Kennewick.
