A truck driver was found dead in Chicago on Tuesday after apparently being crushed by his own rig.
The accident happened on September 21st in Chicago, Illinois at around 2:30 a.m.
According to CBS Chicago, police were called to a train yard in the early hours of the morning where they discovered 46-year-old trucker, William Wells, crushed “between the semi-truck and semi-trailer.” Wells was declared dead on scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office reports that Wells died from traumatic asphyxia, also known as crush asphyxia – a condition that occurs when there is so much pressure placed on the chest that normal breathing cannot take place.
