Trucker helps save stranded highway pup

A truck driver stopped on the shoulder of a rainy Oklahoma highway to help save a dog he noticed was wandering along the road.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the dog had been walking for about six hours on the Turner Turnpike before the truck driver stopped on the afternoon of July 1. Once the trucker pulled over, the dog ran underneath his trailer.

While the driver was attempting to coax the rain-soaked dog out, OHP Trooper Matthew Krupczyk arrived on the scene.

Trooper Krupczyk crawled under the trailer and pet the dog for approximately five minutes before it was calm enough to be taken back to his patrol car.

The dog was taken back to central dispatch to be taken care of until they could locate its owners.
