A semi truck driver was killed on a Kentucky interstate on Tuesday after losing control and striking state police vehicles.
The fatal crash occurred around 8 a.m. on February 16 on I-65 near Exit 58 in Hart County, Kentucky.
Two Kentucky troopers were reportedly working the scene of a previous crash when they were hit by an out of control truck.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear described the fatal crash in a news release:
“One collision has resulted in a fatality. The driver of a semi-truck lost control striking two KSP troopers. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the troopers sustained minor injuries. KSP’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement is investigating the crash and the interstate will remain closed until further notice.”
Kentucky transportation officials are urging drivers to avoid unnecessary travel.
