Trucker ‘lucky to walk away’ from wreck that smashed cab

Published:

California Highway Patrol says that a truck driver is lucky to be alive and walking after a serious incident left his rig sitting completely upside down.

The accident happened on Wednesday, July 28th at around 10 a.m.  on State Route 165 near River Road between Stevinson and Hilmar.

According to ABC 30 Action News, the tractor trailer was heading north on Highway 165 when the driver apparently failed to turn at a curve and veered off the road. The truck then flipped completely upside down, landing on its roof and pinning the trucker inside.

Thankfully, firefighters were able to extricate the unnamed trucker from the vehicle and the driver was able to walk away with only minor injuries.

CHP officers say that the driver was “lucky to walk away with minor injuries.”
