A trucker has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after having sexual relations with at least one of two minors while on a trip in his truck, which resulted in the birth of his child.
According to News 10, 33-year-old David Skaggs of Cahokia, Illinois began talking with a 15-year-old boy from Lee County, Virginia via Facebook in 2015. Skaggs and the boy, referred to in court documents as “AA,” developed a friendship and Skaggs became familiar with AA’s entire family including his 13-year-old sister, referred to in court documents as “KL.”
In August of 2015, Skaggs picked up AA and KL from their home in Virginia and took them on a long trip in his semi truck to South Dakota. Once there, Skaggs purchased alcohol for the minors and all three of them sat in his truck and drank together. Once AA had fallen asleep, Skaggs had sex with 13-year-old KL. She later gave birth to his child.
Skaggs was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Thursday, September 30th for transporting the two minors to South Dakota and engaging in sexual activity.
